A new initiative offering programming to members of four neighborhood synagogues (The Community Synagogue, Port Jewish Center, Temple Beth Israel, and the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore) ages 55 and above.
We are hoping these programs give you fun and exciting new ways to connect to your synagogue community. The Shalom Synagogue Village also provides the opportunity to meet and foster new relationships with members of other local synagogues, further deepening your connection to the synagogue community and the greater Port Washington area.
New programs are being added regularly. Please check with us.

Beyond the Career Returns:
First Session is this Wednesday, June 17th
A Discussion Group for Women Creating What’s Next
What comes after a successful career? Beyond the Career is a small, peer-led discussion group for women over 55 who are ready to explore that question with intention and heart. Whether you’re considering a transition or have already taken the leap, this bi-monthly gathering offers a supportive space to reflect, dream, and take meaningful steps toward a vibrant next chapter.
In our summer series, discussions will include topics related to identity, purpose, health, giving back, joy, and reinvention—through open dialogue, shared resources, and personal discovery.
Who It’s For
Women 55+ who are:
• Considering retirement or career transition
• Newly retired and seeking connection and community
• Eager to explore what a meaningful “next chapter” looks like
Meeting Dates
Lunch will be provided. The cost of the program is $15 per session.
