Gan Shalom
Cooperative Nursery School
Gan Shalom, our cooperative nursery school, offers classes for two, three and four year olds. The nursery school was organized by dedicated rabbis, early childhood educators and child development professionals, whose goal was to provide the best possible Jewish experience for young children and their families. Our nurturing environment combines the best of early childhood practices with Jewish holiday and Shabbat experiences.
Each day, enthusiastic, experienced teachers greet children who are eager to work and play. Our high quality early childhood program provides age appropriate materials and hands-on learning experiences in a safe, relaxed atmosphere. Jewish activities are integrated into the program through stories, music, art and cooking. Rabbi Lee, Cantor Eric and Assistant Rabbi Jodie are involved with our classes throughout the year and offer our children and families a special connection to the synagogue. The rich and enthusiastic introductions of early positive Jewish experiences encourages the development of a strong Jewish identity.
Our cooperative environment encourages parent participation in our classes. How special it is for a child when his or her own parent is in the classroom! Parents and grandparents are also invited to participate in regular synagogue programs.
