1001 Plandome Road Rabbi Jodie Siff
Our assistant rabbi, Jodie Siff, grew up in this congregation. Her family joined the Reconstructionist Synagogue of the North Shore when it was just beginning to emerge as a congregation. Connected through rabbinic and familial ties, Jodie remained in touch with her Jewish community as she studied at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Jodie competed on Lehigh's varsity cross-country team which prepared her for the 1991 Pan-Am Maccabee games in Uruguay, South America. Competing and becoming engaged with Jewish athletes around the world sparked her interest to study Judaism in depth. Graduating with honors as a result of her thesis on Modern Orthodox Women, Jodie then continued her Hebrew studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City. She was graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2001. Prior to joining the staff of RSNS, Jodie was integral in spearheading Rosh Hodesh groups in several congregations and was involved in developing a format for young women's groups. She also taught for six years in various settings. Back to Leadership |
